Smart #1 EV Gets a Price Cut in Malaysia!
In a move that electrifies the market, Pro-Net has announced a significant price reduction for its Smart #1 electric compact SUV in Malaysia. This price revision is a part of the company’s strategy to make electric vehicles more accessible and to strengthen its foothold in the Malaysian market.
New Pricing Structure
The Smart #1, which made its debut in our market six months ago, has seen a price drop that varies between RM10,000 to RM20,000. The new pricing is as follows:
- Smart #1 Pro: Was RM189,000, now RM169,000
- Smart #1 Premium: Was RM219,000, now RM209,000
It’s important to note that the price cut only applies to these two variants, while the Smart #1 Brabus remains at RM249,000. The prices mentioned are on-the-road inclusive of SST but exclude insurance.
A Sweet Deal for Existing Owners
Existing Smart #1 Pro and Premium owners aren’t left out in the cold. They will be provided with a complimentary four-year service package, ensuring that early adopters are rewarded for their loyalty and support.
Smart #1 Pro vs Premium: A Quick Comparison
The Smart #1 Pro might be the entry-level model, but it doesn’t skimp on power. It boasts a 200kW (268hp) electric motor with 343Nm torque in a rear-wheel-drive setup, similar to the Premium variant. The Pro accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 6.7 seconds and has a top speed of 180km/h. However, it houses a smaller 49kWh LFP battery, resulting in a shorter range of 315km according to the WLTP standard. In contrast, the Premium variant offers a WLTP-rated range of 440km.
With these price adjustments, Pro-Net is not only making the Smart #1 more attractive price-wise but also reinforcing its commitment to customer satisfaction and service. This strategic move is likely to shake up the EV market in Malaysia and could be a game-changer for the adoption of electric vehicles.
