M22 Indian. I’m feeling deeply lonely being so far from home having moved to Penang recently. I’ve been single all my life and have always longed for someone special, a close friend who could share my life with me. 2 months ago I met a girl who seemed like a true gift on dating apps. For two months, she felt like a miracle in my otherwise lonely existence. But nothing good lasts forever. One day, she suddenly disappeared—she removed me on fb and blocked me on IG. I thought I had moved on, but a dream about her last night reopened all my old wounds. I was scared she might have died, but after checking through a fake Instagram account, I saw she’s okay. This isn’t the first time I’ve faced this; shortly after, I met another girl on Reddit who vanished just as quickly. (I want to stress that I was never inappropriate with either of them.) I can’t help but wonder why this keeps happening to me. Why do people come into my life only to leave without a word?
