Diesel Prices in Malaysia: RM3.35 per Litre Starting June 10
Malaysians are bracing for a significant change at the pumps as diesel prices nationwide are set to increase. Starting midnight on Monday, June 10, diesel will retail at RM3.35 per litre. Let’s dive into the details.
The new price is based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula for the month of May. Previously, diesel was priced at RM2.15 per litre. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the fuel subsidy rationalization, withdrawing subsidies for “the rich and foreigners.” However, subsidies will continue for traders using diesel-powered commercial vehicles and public transportation.
To prevent drastic increases in the cost of goods and services, subsidies will also continue for certain categories of fishermen. Cash aid will be given to eligible individuals who own private diesel-powered vehicles, such as small traders and farmers.
As diesel prices fluctuate, it’s essential to stay informed about the latest developments. Keep an eye on the pumps and adjust your budget accordingly. Still driving a diesel powered car? Affected by the diesel cost? #sharewithMin
